Deb Diller

I was fortunate enough to attend Deb Diller's Summer Institute in Houston this past weekend and let me just say it was UH...MAY...ZING! I learned sooooo much and got tons of great ideas to pass along to teachers next year. Here are a few items Deb suggested that I just had to mention -

this awesome pocket chart that is DOUBLE SIDED so that you can have your literacy stations on one side and your math stations on the other...love that idea!
There are more pocket charts like this one at Debbie Diller Designs on Really Good Stuff

Another fave item was this handy dandy storage container for stations. It's called the Really Useful Box from Office Depot.  It has handles so that small hands won't have trouble toting it around the classroom AND it comes in different sizes.

About the Authors by Katie Wood Ray - great resource to help K-2 teachers implement writing workshop in their classroom.

and Teaching the Youngest Writers by Marcia Freeman

and of course, I highly recommend ALL of Deb Diller's books and if you get a chance to see her in person...GO! I promise you won't regret it!
