A Fun Blonde Joke

A girl came skipping home from school one day. "Mommy, Mommy, she yelled, "We were counting today, and all the other kids could only count to four, but I counted to 10. See? 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10!" "Very good," said her mother. "Is it because I'm blonde?" the girl asked. "Yes, It's because your blonde." The next day the girl came skipping home from school. "Mommy, Mommy," she yelled, "We were saying the alphabet today, and all the other kids said up to D, but I said it up to G. See? A,B,C,D,E,F,G!" "Very good," said her mother. "Is it because I'm blonde, Mommy?" "Yes, It's because your blonde." The next day the girl came skipping home from school. "Mommy Mommy!" she yelled, "We were in gym class today, and when we were showering, all the other girls had flat chests, but I have these!" She lifted up her tank top to reveal a pair of 36Cs. "Very good," said her embarrassed mother. "Is it because I'm Blonde, Mommy?" "No Honey, Its because you're 24."

I was married, I was a new Mom with Connor and he was only 8 months old. I was working at Boatmen's in the Investment Department as their Marketing Coordinator.

Pretty much the exact same thing! How exciting is that! ALthough I had not yet been chosen by Bo Bunny, Scrap Jazz or Cropper's Cottage..so those were BIG changes!

Monday Comes Too Fast!

It's true! It does! The weekends just fly by lately and before you know it..Monday is back! This weekend was no exception! It started with the scrapbook crop at my house Friday night! It was a packed crop too with lots of new ladies added to our usual group. Lots of fun..but I don't get to scrap. I'm just too busy being Hostess. But I enjoy it and now and then do get to sit and actually work on my own things.

Saturday I worked at Gymboree. I didn't want to go since I knew I needed to work on design work..but hey..you must go. Once I got there I enjoyed myself as I seem to do. It's just the getting there..leaving that is tough to do. And what is even more amazing is during my three hour shift..I sold over $1000 in products!!! That my friends is UNREAL! My bosses mouth was just hanging open in compete awe of me. I love the products..it shows..it's easy to help people and never be pushy about it. Appearantly they think I am the bomb at the store!ha I wonder why!

Saturday night worked on my assignments and suprised myself by completing three layouts and one card! That is alot for one evening. I worked on them while we watched Lord of the Wars with Nicholas Cage. Good movie..kept me interested.

Sunday..more design work, organizing my albums and protectors, putting away all the pages waiting that were in a big pile, helped Connor with his project and completed one more layout. It's one of my faves now! Here it is:



We watched another movie this one called The Constant Gardener..with Rafe Feines and Rachel Weisz(the Mummy)..this one again kept my attention but was a bit of a tear jerker as well. We have so much to be thankful for after seeing conditions people live in in Africa!

And then woke up this morning with a bump on my right eye right at the spot of your eyelashes. It's bugging me..making my eyelid feel quite heavy..and bothering my contact. I'm going to try not to think about it even though I am!HA Wishing I was with the gals from SJ and CC and at the CHA in Vegas. Getting to walk about, meet people, get lots of cool goodies, say hi to all the wonderful people at Bo Bunny and just take in this amazing hobby of mine with others. But maybe in July I can swing Chicago..a whole lot closer and better time to be gone!

So that is it..my boring Monday morning post..wishing the weekends lasted longer!

Blondes

Well thanks so much to Becky for posting this and providing the inspiration today for my blog post. It's right up my alley!

(sub in whichever group instead of blonde if you would like -- just dumb people, lol)
January - Took new scarf back to store because it was too tight.
February - Fired from pharmacy job for failing to print labels...duh...bottles won't fit in typewriter!!!
March - Got excited...finished jigsaw puzzle in 6 months...box said "2-4 years!"
April - Trapped on escalator for hours...power went out!!!
May - Tried to make Kool-Aid...8 cups of water won't fit into those darn little packets!!!
June - Tried to go water skiing...couldn't find a lake with a slope.
July - Lost breast stroke swimming competition...learned later, other swimmers cheated; they used their arms!!!
August - Got locked out of car in rain storm...car swamped because top was down.
September - The capital of California is "C"...isn't it???
October - Hate M&M's...they are so hard to peel.
November - Baked turkey for 4 1/2 days...instructions said 1 hour per pound and I weigh 108!!!
December - Couldn't call 911...duh...there's no "eleven" button on the phone!

Thanks so so much for the laugh! After the night I had with family last night..I can't tell you how much I needed this!

TGIF **UPDATED**

Thank goodness it's Friday!!!!!!!!! I tell you for a short work week it has seemed to me at times so LONG! Maybe it's because all week long I have strugged with projects I needed to do and haven't touched a one. Lately at night I just don't feel it and during the day it's been impossible as I can't seem to get everyone napping at the same time! AHH So this weekend is FULL..F U L L full..like packed to the top full!haha

Rejection

Gosh..even writing the word rejected is hard much less talking about it. You see I have entered a few Design Team contests lately and keep getting the same thing..rejection letters. For some of them it was really easy to accept..I maybe knew I wasn't a perfect fit and therefore really should not have applied but still did. But for others, things you know you personally would kick some JLo butt at..the rejection stings really bad.

I normally keep quiet..don't tell anyone I am applying much less that I have been rejected but that is hard too when you see others publicly posting about their efforts and then publicly posting about their rejections. I read them..feel the same thoughts..but just keep quiet figuring their are enough people feeling the same..why add one more to the pile.

So please forgive today..I am feeling the rejection sting pretty hard. And you know I am really wondering about the direction I am moving. For a while I felt a big forward momentum..but right now I feel like I am stuck in neutral with a tendancy to roll backwards at times. Maybe I need to stop and really think about what it is I want..even though I thought I knew that. And had I made this last team..I don't think I could have wanted for anything more. Makes it really tough.

Maybe I am just supposed to stop with all the applying and refocus my efforts on my current work, current projects and do those the absolute best I can do and maybe just maybe if I continue on..I will shift gears and slowly start the forward movement again!

A phrase that Scott and I have said to each other for more than 14 years now still is said on a daily basis. Thought this was a good one for the Bling themes I am working on for ScrapJazz. Love these Heidi Grace Shimmer & Glitter papers although I think it's hard to appreciate them online.



And here a cute picture of Connor and Haley when they got home from school yesterday. Both dying to get back outside as quickly as possible to get to play in the little bit of snow we got!

New Layouts

Not a whole lot going on this week. In fact seems to really have dragged on and on if you ask me. Maybe it's because I feel like my thoughts this week are centered around the South Beach or maybe because I am out of my mind with this hair and can't wait to go tomorrow to have it done! AAHHH It bugs the heck out of me when I call and I have to wait. And during that time by hair goes from okay..to awful! SO alot of hat days lately.

Other than that..trying to get into the groove and get some design work done. Not feeling it lately..but trying to! Here's two for the month..many many more to follow!!!!!





Let me know what you think..for the Heart breaker I needed to have a bit of "bling" to it which might be hard to see. But if you look at the dot paper..there are tiny heart rhinestones in spots where the dots were not. I think it turned out okay..feel like I missed something but now I have stared at it for too long. So feel free to offer any thoughts on it.

Oh and it's snowing here in St.Louis..beautiful ..but makes it hard to walk for South Beach so looks like the Bowflex and I are going to have to get to know each other again!

I'm Shocked

Well I am...that is Nike Shoxed! Since I started my walks back up this weekend I noticed my shins were really hurting while walking and that my concentration was more on my shoes than my walk as it should be. And really I know why, as the shoes I was wearing to walk in were backless..Skechers slides! But really up till now I never have had a problem in them. But something has changed and I can't walk the speed I want in them. So I knew I needed a new pair to get my rear in gear and walk without worrying that my shoe is going to flip off.

So after weeks of seeing all these cute Shox on people walking in and out of Gymboree..I knew I wanted to check those out and that they must be pink! Saw a really cute pair on a girl the other day and she told me they were from Finish Line. Went online yesterday where they had a $10 off coupon and I had a gift card to the Mall(thank you Kim!!!!) so after dropping Haley off at dance class. Parker and I headed to the mall. And what did I find..but the shoe of all shoes..the Julia shoe..me in a nutshell! Totally different from what I had seen and liked..and really much more me!



At first they felt very strange on..as shoot I don't normally wear shoes with backs on them. And then the shoxs under my heal(senstitive spot for me) were odd..but I could tell they would be good. The gal asked if I wanted to wear them home which I did..the whole time taking in how good they felt on my feet. And actually..shoxing..wanting to go on a walk at night! So they must be a good thing..new shoes really do boost your enthusiam for exercise especially when they are this darn cute!HA

Oh and update on my weight..I was 2 pounds down this morning..but that could have but a goofup..maybe not! Shoxing!

And for those scrappers..got my Designing with 2006 Calendar and can I say..I think this is a must have calendar for every scrapper out there! So run...buy..you must have one..I will get alot more done now with this for inspiration! OH and Kim at Cropper's Cottage has a few in stock..so grab one fast!

Headed to South Beach

Yep..are you jealous? Scott and I are headed to South Beath. Well, maybe I should clarify..not South Beach Miami...more like South Beach the diet!LOL Although the first one sounds better!

No sadly we are back on the diet..not that we really strayed..but over the past few months..we indulged more than we should have and it seems to have caught up on us. I weighed myself this weekend and then Scott did. Neither of us told the other until yesterday and revealed we both are too heavy! I put on 5 but really need to take 10 off to be where I should and Scott put on 10. YUCKY! No wonder my clothes don't feel good and that is with stretch in them! So back to the beach..back to walking..which I should of never stopped. But very hard to do when you work alot and then add a second job.

So we're hitting it hard..need to..don't like how we feel. I can see it much more on myself than Scott..but then he has 8 inches over me and that should make a difference!

So wish us luck on our trip..we'll need it! I'll keep you posted on our travels!ha

Happy New Year 2006!

Well it's here..my lucky number year! Yes..I am one of those that loves even numbers and anything with a 2 and a 6! So high expectations for a great year!

So..some things I have been up to..watched 40 Year-Old Virgin..loved it. Enjoyed it from beginning to end! Funny..just right funny!

Packing up Christmas decorations and it seems to be going faster then I remember. I think it is because the basement is finished and it's so much easier with the tree down there and just hauling it all downstairs and not having to drag all those Rubbermaid containers up and down.

Thinking of some goals for myself for this year. Not really resolutions..but just some goals. Get the kitchen redo started, paint some furniture pieces, keep up with my scrapping..which isn't hard with the design teams..but maintain and maybe add a little. Keep up the reading..love to read!! Take more everyday pictures! Go for more walks...bowflex..exercise. Things like that..nothing major..just keep on keeping. And keep the level of unnecessary things in this house to a minimum oh and while on that..decrease my overspending in Target and TJMaxx. Thinking save on those so when ktichen is done..new stuff for in there much better than crap all around the house you don't even notice.

Would love to find a used '68 or '69 Camero..like what Pierce Brosnan drove in After the Sunset for Scott! We have this thing about them..would be neat to have a Camero and Corvette. I think!LOL I know..I love cars..can't help it.



And a silly but still nice one..keep my nails painted or at least paint more often. Even though they are short..they still look really nice when painted..so OPI watch out!

So just some thoughts on this new year..hope everyone had a good one..we did..oh and Battle of the Sexes is a very cute game to play..I learned some stuff..did anyone know that Dunebuggy's have a VW engine? Nope..now I do!LOL
