And here are the instructions!

Glass Coasters Project

Supplies:
Glass Coasters (available at your local Michael’s Craft Stores)
Scrapbook Papers
Stickers
Glue Stick or Paper Adhesive
Plaid Mod Podge
Foam Brush
Photos

1) Trace the coaster shape onto the backside of a piece of scrap paper. This will create a template for you for the coasters. Once you have your template…now comes the fun part.

2) Select the papers and embellishments that work best with your photo. For photos I find that wallet and the smaller size (school photos) work perfectly for these. You can also print this size from home or at your local photo center.

3) Use your template and trace the shape onto the backside of the paper. Cut out the paper. For mind I added another layer with a stripe and print. About 3-4 thin layers is really the most you should add. Plus it’s best to keep the embellishments as flat as possible so when it’s used as a coaster (if it's used!LOL) the drink will sit flat on the coaster.

4) Once you’ve cut out the papers you like…adhere each layer as you go. Add any stickers, rubons or flat embellishments.

5) Now you’re ready to adhere the papers to the actual coaster. First apply a light coating of Mod Podge to the glass coaster and to the backside of your paper. Then press the paper onto the glass smoothing it out carefully. Allow around 15 or so minutes for it to sit. Then it’s time to seal over the top.

6) Apply a light coat of Mod Podge over the top of the coaster. I repeated this 4 additional times to make sure it was completely covered allowing adequate dry time between each coat. Allow each layer to dry before adding another layer. I would suggest 3-4 coats of Mod Podge to seal it.

7) Go through the same steps for additional coasters.
Wrap it up...and you’ve got a wonderful holiday gift!

17 days until Christmas!
