Well, The Quilt With No Name is now Vicksburg. I looked over the ideas some of my readers had and, while they were all nice ideas, I really needed something Civil War related. Today after getting all of the blocks into rows and then rows stitched together, I pondered my favorite GWTW characters and places to see if anything struck me. Coming up empty (the quilt is far to serious for Aunt Pittipat and somehow it didn't look like Dr. Meade either), I turned to CW Battles and thought long and hard about Appomattox Court House but (a) Vicksburg is easier to spell and (b) somehow Appomattox Court House would signify the end of my Civil War quilts, and I've got way too many scraps to surrender yet. So Vicksburg it is. And I like it. It goes into the pile of flimsies to be quilted someday.
Here's the first quilt that I made from this pattern, Argyle Anyone? It isn't sewn together in this picture and, yes, I did move that one aqua block to a different location.
I really can't decide if I like one better than the other. And I guess I don't need to. They certainly are different!
In the handwork department, at long last I'm on the final side of the border of Mason-Dixon which I've worked on off and on for about three years. It will likely be ready to bind sometime this month.
