Last night I did the cutting for this months FQ Shop Mystery Designer BOM Block 11 -- it appears we're in the home stretch for this BOM and I'm impressed with myself at how well I've kept up to date! Of course there is a center panel that I've not looked at. But it seems to me that I should have all of the 12 surrounding blocks finished before starting that. In another month, that will be the case! So the block is done and I'm not crazy about it, but it was easy and I learned a new technique on those diagonal rectangles.
I've also subscribed to another BOM through the Fat Quarter Shop (no affiliation, just a darned satisfied customer); this one is called Martinique and the first part of it came last week. Seems I needed to make two identical blocks for this installment and they are done and I like them.
Every day or night before I call it quits, I take some of my CW fabrics and press them and cut one 6.5 square from each. When those 9 patches are swapped out, I'm going to need a lot of unpieced 6.5 squares to intersperse with them as I make my quilt. If I don't have enough different ones, Honna has offered to let me raid her CW stash. And I just got a few more quarter yards, too. This quilt is going to be just like Melanie Wilkes only smaller. Maybe it will be called "Ashley Takes a Nap." Or maybe not.
