The $2 admission proceeds collected at this years' Junk Fest will benefit two local Carrington charities! The first one will be Carrington's Daily Bread Pantry. This non-profit charity began in 2004 after our local county food bank closed. The program began it's start at the Trinity Lutheran Church and was later moved to a building on Carrington's Main Street. The co-directors, Laura Irion and Jan Bakke, are volunteers who donate their time, energy and hard work to keep this program open to the people in need in our community.
Our second donation will go to the Carrington Ambulance fund. Unfortunately this winter due to terrible road conditions, one of our ambulances was involved in a tragic accident while transporting a patient to a hospital in Fargo, ND. Sadly, the patient died. Paramedic Mike Parr was seriously injured and has not yet been able to return to work. We are so thankful for our local hospital and ambulance personnel! We hope we never need them, but are so grateful they are there in the event we do. Pictured below is paramedic Tim Schmeets.
Hot off the press: Farm Credit Services of North Dakota, Minot ND Association, has graciously offered to match our admission fees up to $750 bucks! Woohoo!
So come out to the 5th Annual JUNK FEST & Flea Market on Saturday, September 12th from 9:00-2:00 at the fairgrounds in Carrington, ND...we look forward to seeing you all! Please be sure and say "hi" to one of us Junk Fest girls if you have been a follower of our blog - we'd love to meet you!
