Sarah Palin On Issues Obama Should Be Focusing On

It seems Barack Obama and company thinks they are running against Sarah Palin, Breitbart and Hannity, this campaign season despite the fact that they are not names associated with the four remaining GOP candidates and they did not enter the race for presidency.

Sarah has a response to Obama's attack ad taking her own words out of context as well as others.

Exhibit A in these diversionary tactics is an absurd new attack ad President Obama has released taking my comments out of context. I’m not running for any office, but I’m more than happy to accept the dubious honor of being Barack Obama’s “enemy of the week” if that includes the opportunity to debate him on the issues Americans are actually concerned about. (Remember when I said you don’t need a title to make a difference?)

Just off the top of my head, a few of these concerning issues include: a debt crisis that has us hurtling towards a Greek-style collapse, entitlement programs going bankrupt, a credit downgrade for the first time in our history, a government takeover of the health care industry that makes care more expensive and puts a rationing panel of faceless bureaucrats between you and your doctor (aka a “death panel”), $4 and $5 gas at the pump exacerbated by an anti-drilling agenda that rejects good paying energy sector jobs and makes us more dependent on dangerous foreign regimes, a war in Afghanistan that seems unfocused and unending, a global presidential apology tour that’s made us look feeble and ridiculous, a housing market in the tank, the longest streak of high unemployment since World War II, private-sector job creators and industry strangled by burdensome regulations and an out-of-control Obama EPA, an attack on the Constitutional protection of religious liberty, an attack on private industry in right-to-work states, crony capitalism run amok in an administration in bed with their favored cronies to the detriment of genuine free market capitalism, green energy pay-to-play kickbacks to Obama campaign donors, and a Justice Department still stonewalling on a bungled operation that armed violent Mexican drug lords and led to the deaths of hundreds of innocent people.

Just a starter list of topics Obama would rather avoid using "diversionary tactics."

"true enough to make me squirm"

Like most of you political junkies, I watched Game Change last night. And even though I expected the worse, I still wasn't prepared for what I say. Sarah Palin, ladies and gentlemen, is insane! It's no wonder that she made such an effort to discredit the movie. A movie, by the way, which is based on a book that was published by two well respected journalists. A book that was full of firsthand accounts from people who actually witnessed Sarah gone wild on the campaign trail.

If you still believe that the movie was a work of fiction, read what senior Palin advisor, Nicolle Wallace, had to say: 

 "While Sarah Palin has denounced the HBO docudrama "Game Change" about her rise to national stardom during the 2008 presidential campaign as a "false narrative," one of Palin's top advisers said today that the film was actually "true enough to make me squirm."

Wallace said in October that she based the mentally ill vice-presidential character in her fictional book, "It's Classified," off Palin. She told ABC News' Top Line in October that Palin "seemed deeply troubled" at times during the campaign and that some of her behaviors "concerned me."...

"They concerned a lot of people, and we did have discussions about whether it would be appropriate from someone who seemed to swing from so high to so low, when the pressure of the campaign as placed on her shoulders, would it be appropriate for somebody like that to have to endure the burdens of the vice presidency?" Wallace said in the October interview."

Why am I still talking about Sarah Palin? Because Sarah Palin is still talking.
And when Sarah talks----- because of her huge platform and many minions, it is dangerous for A-merry-ca.  

Lately she has jumped right into the FOX NEWS manufactured flap about the now deceased, law professor, Derrick Bell.  

"What we can glean from this is an understanding of why we are on the road that we are on. Again, it's based on what went into his thinking, being surrounded by radicals. You could hearken back to the days before the Civil War, when too many Americans believed that not all men were created equal. It was the Civil War that began the codification of the truth that here in America, yes, we are equal and we all have equal opportunities, not based on the color of our skin. You have equal opportunity to work hard and to succeed and to embrace the opportunities, the God-given opportunities, to develop resources and work extremely hard and as I say, to succeed. Now, it has taken all these years for many Americans to understand that the gravity, that mistake that took place before the Civil War and why the Civil War had to really start changing America. What Barack Obama seems to want to do is go back before those days when we were in different classes based on income, based on color of skin. Why are we allowing our country to move backwards instead of moving forward with the understanding that as our charters of liberty spell out for us, we are all created equally?"

Should a woman who is obviously mentally unstable be pontificating to millions of people about the dangers of an African American president taking us back to a pre Civil War A-merry-ca? My question is rhetorical. Of course not. After watching Game Change I think that we can all agree that Sarah Palin should be banished from the public stage forever. Sadly, as long as there is FOX NEWS and forums like it, she will always have a platform to spew her ignorance.   

David Graham does a good job of putting Sarah's pronouncements in its proper context for his article in The Atlantic.

"Incredibly, Palin seems incapable of uttering the word "slavery" when discussing the Civil War. Thankfully, she's not even flirting with the neo-Confederate belief that the war was about states' rights rather than slavery. But she doesn't mention slavery because it would clearly undermine her case: even the most hardcore Son of the Confederacy would see the absurdity of arguing that the first black president would like to return to the days of slavery.

At the same time, Palin manages to minimize the importance of the war itself. To hear her tell it, it was a revolution of thought, not unlike the Reformation or the Renaissance. It was not. The Civil War was a bloody conflict. More than a half a million Americans died. Only through that carnage was the liberation of slaves achieved, and it still took a century and many more lost lives for basic rights to be guaranteed for black Americans.

What Palin is expounding is a belief that has become common among conservatives. Almost all conservatives (like almost all liberals) agree that racial equality is the ideal toward which the United States ought to move. But many on the right have adopted the view that the only way to address racism is to pretend it does not exist. Thus, anyone who talks about race or acknowledges race or makes mention of the fraught American relationship with racism must by definition be a racist. Clearly, that makes Barack Obama and Derrick Bell racists. It also makes Juan Williams, a center-right commentator, a racist when he points out that Newt Gingrich is using "food stamps" as code for "black." [Source]

I was honestly hoping that I did my last Sarah Palin post awhile ago.

Unfortunately, she just won't go away.

Game Change: Breitbart.com Proves Factual Errors In HBO's Sarah Palin Film

Three specific pieces over at Breitbart.com/BigHollywood that are must read in full takedowns of HBO's "Game Change", One a review, and two which prove the factual errors or deliberate lies in the HBO production.

Now that I've actually had a chance to screen HBO's "Game Change," I can tell you without any hesitation that if you've seen the trailer, you've seen the movie. The film is nothing more than an extended version of those 107 seconds where, for around two hours, Governor Palin is maliciously turned into one thing -- that which she is not.

Essentially, what HBO and company have done is to bring to life that which justifies the darkest part of their own incapacity to see the humanity in those who might threaten the reelection of Barack Obama.

Rush Limbaugh: 'Clearing Up Misinformation on Our Sponsors'

Rush Limbaugh explained yesterday how sponsorship works and why the hype over his show losing sponsors makes for good headlines but doesn't hurt him one iota.

RUSH: I want to ask if you will indulge me for just a brief few minutes for some inside baseball stuff before we move on to our review of the issues of the day, politics and so forth, Super Tuesday, the results, and where we are. The reason for this is, once again, so much misinformation about this program and advertisers is in the mainstream media. People are reporting things that, A, are not true, and B, I don't even think the people reporting it have the slightest idea what they're talking about, nor do they have the ability to understand it.

But I know that many of you are spending a lot of time -- God bless you -- on the Web doing what you can to express your support for the program. And judging from the reaction of my own brother, who sends me a note last night, "You really lost 28 sponsors?" No, we have not lost 28 sponsors. "Well, how can they say it?" Because they lie and because they don't understand how it works, and that's what I want to try and explain. In fact, folks, we have three brand-new sponsors that will be starting in the next two weeks. Now, obviously, I'm not gonna tell you who they are today, but we've got three brand-new, full-fledged sponsors starting in the next two weeks.

Two of the sponsors who have canceled have asked to return. We are being very careful about that. Not gonna give you any names here. One of them is practically begging to come back. Everything is fine on the business side. Everything's cool. There is not a thing to worry about. What you're seeing on television about this program and sponsors and advertisers is just incorrect. And let me try to explain how this works. Let's take the claim that we've lost 28 sponsors. Sponsors on this program are both local and national. We deal with the national sponsors on this program. We have 600-plus stations. They sell their own commercials. We don't have anything to do with those sponsors. We don't get paid by those sponsors. We have no idea who those sponsors are.

Let's make up a company, ABC Widget Company. And let's say that ABC Widget Company says, "We are no longer going to appear on the Rush Limbaugh Show." Well, ABC Widget Company isn't on the Rush Limbaugh Show. What happens is, advertising agencies order advertising buys on a series of local stations from market to market to market. A controversy like this erupts. They put out a notice to the stations, "By the way, for the time being we don't want our commercials run when Limbaugh is on." But they are not canceling their advertising on the station. They're just saying they don't want it running on my program during the local affiliate's commercial time, not ours.

So this 28 or 32 -- and I don't even know if that number's accurate, numbers are coming from Media Matters. There's no way anybody could know this, but I'm gonna put it in further perspective in just a second. What it means is there have been -- let's use the number 28 -- 28 advertisers who none of us are aware are even advertising on our local stations who had sent out orders that their commercials are not to run on my program. But that is not revenue to us. They are not our sponsors. They are not even canceling their advertising on the local station. They're just saying for the time being they don't want it run from noon to three. And let me tell you, this happens every day. It's been happening for 23-plus years. And it's not just to me. There are clients, advertisers, that tell stations, "I don't want this to run in Beck's show. I don't want it to run in Hannity's. I don't want it to run in Howard Stern's." It's all part of the business.

But because there's a focal point on this in trying to dispirit you and trying to present a picture of this program that doesn't exist and that's untrue, they're trying to make it sound like this is unprecedented -- that it's never happened before, it's at an all-time high -- and it simply isn't the case. We have not lost 28 national sponsors. There are not 28 advertisers who were paying us who aren't anymore. They are local commercial buys. Many of them may not even be running in my show to begin with. The advertisers are just saying, "If they are, pull 'em. We don't want 'em in there for now," but they're staying on the local stations. These advertisers are not abandoning EIB affiliates.

Nobody is losing money here, including us, in all this. And that is key for you to understand. They are not canceling the business on our stations. They're just saying they don't want their spots to appear in my show. We don't get any revenue from 'em anyway. The whole effort is to dispirit you. It's to make you think the left is being successful in its campaign when it isn't. In fact, the left is so fed up, they can't see straight. They thought they had me. They thought I would be off the air by now. They can't understand why I still am on the air. There is also another rumor going around that I am going to be suspended for a week. It is utter BS.

I would have to suspend myself!

Now, let me put this in further perspective for you, this number of 28 or 32, and then we're gonna move on to other things. Sponsors of our program are both nationwide companies, like Two If By Tea (my tea company), and local companies, like "Mike's Auto Body Repair" or a local bank. If we added up all of our affiliates (let's choose the number 600) and we assumed that each of those affiliates had 30 such sponsors in the course of our three-hour program, there might be -- all across this country -- as many as 18,000 different sponsors of this program. Let me put it another way: There might be 18,000 different people buying advertising within this program alone.

That is a conservative number: 600 stations, 18 commercial minutes an hour. We take whatever we take to sell ourselves and the local station keeps the rest. They have local advertisers. You add up all those over the course of 600 stations, over three hours a day, five days a week, and we're talking 18,000 different sponsors, okay? ABC News, who understands how this works and are purposely misrepresenting it, is out there ballyhooing that we have lost 28 sponsors. Twenty-eight sponsors out of 18,000! That's like losing a couple of french fries in the container when it's delivered to you at the drive-thru. You don't even notice it. If we lose 28 of those sponsors, the majority of them being in one city or another out of 18 thousand, it's a sad occurrence.

But, folks, I would venture to say that this happens every day anyway in the course of doing business. Advertisers come and go. New businesses start up; they start advertising. Some businesses go under, they stop their advertising. None of what's happening is out of the ordinary. It's just part of an onslaught to try to convince you that this show's history and our days are numbered. And I'm happy to tell you nothing could be further from the truth. The point is we have tens of thousands of companies who advertise in this program. We're appreciative of all of them. The vast majority, we don't even know. They are local sponsors.

As I say, we're going to be debuting three (and maybe more) new sponsors in the coming days and weeks. And I'm sure that our affiliate stations are going to be replacing advertisers with new ones. It's the cycle. Nothing stays the same. It's all dynamic; nothing is static. All you need to know is there are no losses. There is only growth. There are only gains; we're moving forward. There is good in everything that happens. You look for it, you find it, you build on it, and you expand it. They have not taken this program out. They have not taken me out. They're the ones who are frustrated. They're the ones who are angry. They're the ones who are gonna be blowing gaskets in the next couple of weeks. I hope I've made this clear.

It's such inside baseball stuff, but 28 sponsors -- 32, whatever number they're using -- that have been lost, are not direct advertisers here. And they may not even be advertising within my three hours on the stations they're running. It's impossible to know. Now, you might say, "Well, whatever it is, these people are putting out statements." Yes, they're putting out statements because they're hoping to make political gains -- and it's gonna backfire. You can look at the stock price of some of these companies. I'm not gonna say any more, but it's going to backfire. So you have a bank say (pompously), "We are announcing today that none of our commercials will ever again run on the Rush Limbaugh Show." They're not a sponsor of ours, folks. They may buy sponsorships on 10 or 15 of our affiliates around country, but they're not sure they're being inserted in my three hours; they want to make sure they're not. They'll run elsewhere on the station.

Sarah Palin added her two cents in on the ongoing Rush Limbaugh, Sandra Fluke, "slut" controversy.

Palin: "I think the definition of hypocrisy is for Rush Limbaugh to have been called out, forced to apologize and retract what it is that he said in exercising his First Amendment rights and never is that the same applied to the leftist radicals who say such horrible things about the handicapped, about women, about the defenseless. So I think that’s the definition of hypocrisy, and that’s my two cents for you."

[Update] Rush apologizes. Now will Fluke apologize for asking American taxpayers to pay $3,000 a year for her sexual habits?

Quite a bit if virtual ink is being dedicated to Rush Limbaugh, who evidently called Sandra Fluke a "slut", then doubled down and reiterated his position again today saying "I think this is hilarious. Absolutely hilarious. The left has been thrown into an outright conniption fit! This is "phony soldiers" times ten. Oh, ten times worse than phony soldiers. The reaction that they are having to what I said yesterday about Susan Fluke -- or Sandra Fluke, whatever her name is -- the Georgetown student who went before a congressional committee and said she's having so much sex, she's going broke buying contraceptives and wants us to buy them. I said, "Well, what would you call someone who wants us to pay for her to have sex? What would you call that woman? You'd call 'em a slut, a prostitute or whatever."

This is such a big deal that Barack Obama himself, the president, felt the need to call Ms. Fluke to find out of she was okay.

Here is my question: Did Obama call Sarah Palin to find out of she was okay when Obama supporters were posing with T-shirts saying "Sarah Palin is a cunt"?

Did the people that are so outraged now, dedicating all this virtual ink and time into expressing said outrage, dedicate the same type of virtual ink or outrage over the "Sarah Palin is a cunt" T-shirts?

Did Barack Obama call Laura Ingraham to see if she was okay when Ed Shultz called her a "right wing slut."

Did the people that are so outraged now, dedicate the same type of virtual ink or outrage over the "right wing slut" remark by Shultz?

Nope, some said Ingraham deserved it in their esteemed (snark) opinion.

Did Obama call Michelle Malkin to see if she was okay after Bill Maher said "She’d ‘Name Her Vibrator “Obama"

Did the liberals now howling in outrage stand up to defend Malkin? Nope, only conservatives seemed to step up for Malkin.

Compare that also to the reaction over Shultz's right wing slut remarks where we can count on one hand the amount of liberals that were outraged.

It took 2 1/2 screen captures to capture the discussion over Limbaugh's remarks, yet not even one full one over Maher's remarks and not even half a screen over Shultz's.

Gotta love Obama's and the left's double standards and hypocrisy huh?

Less than a year ago, in March of 2011, Maher called Palin a “dumb tw*t,” as reported here by the Daily Caller. On March 29, 2011, the Caller also reported that Maher called Palin the “C-word.”

Did Obama call Palin then and ask if she was okay?

Did Liberals demand the Democrats to cut Maher out of their liberal cliche? No, in fact, Maher is a proud Obama supporter and has donated $1 million to his SuperPAC.

Liberal's manufactured outrage is a bit too late.

Sarah Palin On Gas Prices- Newt Is Right: 'stop bowing and start drilling'

Three years ago the expression Drill, Baby, Drill was hammered home, but under Barack Obama regime's lack of action in opening Alaska up, drilling for natural gas, building the Keystone pipeline, just to name a few, we are still dependent on unfriendly nations for most of our oil supply.

A popular liberal argument back in 2008 would take years for the drill, baby, drill policies to actually make a difference in our oil supply and becoming less dependent on others and more self reliant.

Had we started a balls-to-the-walls implementation of opening our own reserves up, drilling in ANWR,for example, we would be three years closer to that energy independence now.

Sarah Palin has taken to her Facebook page to explain that very thing.

President Obama doesn’t have an energy plan. He has an energy speech that he continues to give regardless of the facts or his obvious failures. He likes to take credit for actions initiated by the last administration (without telling you that he’s reversed or stymied many of those successes).

We should not be surprised by his detached attitude about America’s pain at the pump. He’s not interested in lowering the price of gas because exorbitantly high gas prices are one of his campaign promises. In September 2008, candidate Obama’s Energy Secretary in-waiting said: “Somehow we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to the levels in Europe.” That’s one campaign promise they’re working hard to fulfill!

President Obama notes that instability in the Middle East causes short-term spikes in the price of oil. But that is precisely why we should take every opportunity to drill here and drill now to lessen our dependence on these dangerous foreign regimes. President Obama’s lack of action simply invites the next oil crisis. It’s as if the White House is purposefully making us more dependent on foreign countries – from running up an unsustainable debt that must be financed by foreign debtors, to constantly apologizing and walking on eggshells around dictators who control oil supplies.

When it comes to our energy security, the only thing holding us back is the lack of political will. We have the resources, the ingenuity, and the manpower. And we need the jobs! Any economic recovery will be hampered by these rising gas prices. And I guarantee the rising prices will only get worse and will halt job growth further.

We must never forget that energy development, job creation, and national security are inextricably linked. Access to affordable and secure energy is the key to economic growth, which is the key to job growth. Securing a stable domestic supply of energy will lead to a more peaceful and prosperous America – an America that’s not subject to the whims of dictators who can cut off energy supplies or shut down the Strait of Hormuz to exports passing through.

President Obama repeatedly claims that there is no “silver bullet” to lower gas prices. But, in fact, we do have proof that the promise of future drilling does lead to immediate price relief as oil producers plan to expand their production.

So what are Obama’s solutions? As luck would have it, they coincide with subsidizing his friends and campaign donors. What a fortuitous coincidence in an election year! While you’re paying $5-a-gallon for gas, President Obama has been picking “winners” and “losers” in the free market. He’s decided that conventional resource development that produces the fuel we use to drive our cars and power our economy are “losers.” His “winners” are the bankrupt green energy companies that his campaign donors invest in. Unfortunately his real “losers” are the American public who are once again hit with massive gas prices (at least those who can’t afford luxury electric cars like the Obama-subsidized Volt that gets 40 miles per battery charge, or like the Obama-subsidized Tesla that turns into a “brick” when the battery completely discharges and then costs $40,000 to repair.)

What are the real solutions? Well, whether you support Newt in 2012 or not, he makes a lot of sense in this video, which is why President Obama targeted it for mockery yesterday. Newt is right that we need to “stop bowing and start drilling.” And not only can’t a gun rack fit in a Volt, but the government will take away our pick-up trucks when they pry the steering wheel “from our cold, dead hands.” Newt explains in this video some commonsense, pro-American solutions to the problems President Obama causes with his terrifyingly naïve assault on U.S. energy production.

With just the stroke of a pen, President Obama could lead us in the direction of real energy security and reduce our oil imports threatened by Iran’s threats to shut down the Strait of Hormuz. Here are just a few commonsense measures we can do right now and most of them don’t require any new legislation or regulations:

Open Alaska to drilling. Billions and billions of barrels of U.S. crude (and hundreds of trillions of cubic feet of clean natural gas) sit untapped up here in the far north, my friends. We have the TAPS pipeline and infrastructure; we invite the development! Open ANWR. Think of how much safer and secure we would be if we had done this decades ago.

Build the Keystone Pipeline. President Obama doesn’t understand we live in a land woven with untold miles of pipe to carry safe energy supplies to protect and prosper America. Common sense dictates we need another one now to secure our energy future. It is key. It is the Keystone. If we’re worried about instability in the Middle East, it makes no sense to shun safe and reliable oil from Canada. Obviously, China understands this, and we should too.

Drill for natural gas. Natural gas is the future. It’s clean, it’s green, and we’ve got lots of it. Whether we use it to power natural-gas cars or to run natural-gas power plants that charge electric cars – or ideally for both – natural gas can act as a clean “bridge fuel” to a future when more renewable sources are available.

There are many more steps we need in order to establish a true energy plan to secure our future. But these three steps, plus increased resource development in the Lower 48 and reversing President Obama’s nonsensical, knee-jerk, anti-American energy shut down of off-shore developments would create hundreds of thousands of jobs as millions of barrels of oil every single day would flow under American control, and lessen our dependence on the Persian Gulf.

It’s time our country had a real energy plan that include a genuine all-of-the-above approach that doesn’t ignore conventional resource development. We need the jobs, we need the energy, and we need the security.

Obama mocks Republicans that believe drilling is one important factor in bringing down gas prices in the long run, but his own policies have done nothing but drive gas prices higher and higher. Obama blocks Gulf drilling permits. Obama administration's regulations are so onerous the process is crawling and jobs are lost. Obama rejects the Keystone pipeline, three years after the initial applications were submitted and claims Republicans gave him an "arbitrary" deadline.

Obama blames the soaring gas prices on tensions in the Middle East, but if we were less reliant on oil from the Middle East then the events there would not effect our pumps as severely.

No one claims that gas prices will go down the day we open up our resources but the sooner we start, the sooner those prices and our reliance on others go down.

But it was only Sarah Palin, still attracting the same vortex of attention — here, at least, among her people — as she ever did at the peak of her powers. This was before tonight's keynote speech, for which hundreds of people lined up hours in advance. So many people, in fact, that three overflow rooms were set up to accommodate them all. When Palin was introduced onstage at around 4:40 p.m., she was greeted by a loud, sustained standing ovation, a standing ovation that would be reprised many times.

Sarah Palin, via her Facebook page, takes a strip out of the Republican establishment's hide.

We have witnessed something very disturbing this week. The Republican establishment which fought Ronald Reagan in the 1970s and which continues to fight the grassroots Tea Party movement today has adopted the tactics of the left in using the media and the politics of personal destruction to attack an opponent.

Read the entire thing, well worth the couple minutes it will take.

The Republican establishment is doing everything in their power to force their choice of Mitt Romney down our, the voters, throats. Palin notices it and points to the tactics they are using against Newt Gingrich to do it.

Where is the Outrage?

Let's face it, folks, the United States of America, as you and I have always known it, is going to hell in handbasket. We are letting a bunch of self-appointed elites steal our money and redistribute it to their friends and supporters. We are letting this same bunch of snobs micromanage our lives by writing hundreds of thousands of pages of rules and regulations that no one can keep up with without so much as a whimper of protest. Whatever happened to the home of the free and the brave? Are we going to allow ourselves to become the home of government slaves and a bunch of cowards? Why aren't we mad as hell and determined that we are not going to put up with this crap anymore? Where is the outrage?

The standard answer is that there is nothing we can do about it because you cannot fight city hall let alone the federal government. We both know that this is a cop out. Why are we letting a bunch of know nothings who by their own admission constitute 22% of the population tell the rest of us what to do? Why are we allowing these jerks in the media, Hollywood and universities wage war on our way of life and force us to march to their corrupt tune? If Iran landed on our shores with an army of Sharia law demanding Moslems armed to the teeth determined to force their way of life on us, would we stand idly by and submit? How is what is happening to us any different other than it is not an armed army of fanatics but a bunch of home grown fanatics in control of way too much of the country already?

What can we do about this insidious form of attack? We rebelled when the fanatics in Congress jammed a health care bill a distinct majority of us did not want down our throats and sent 63 new members of the House of the opposite party to Congress to teach them better manners. How did that turn out? What did we get but more of same old, same old crap? How could there be any change when these 63 members elected the same "go along to get along" bunch as their leaders? Yes, they passed some sensible legislation only to have it all die in the Senate that has not managed to pass a budget in over 900 days and counting. So the Republicans weep crocodile tears and say there is nothing they can do since the fanatics control the Senate.

The Republican leadership in both Houses of Congress is so afraid of being beat up on by the media that they never hold their ground. Wake up and smell the coffee. The media is part of the invading enemy so you never let them get away with their assault on the rest of us. Shut the damn federal government down if that is what it takes to get spending under control. The federal government is the biggest threat to our individual freedom and public opinion polls show that well over a majority of the public recognizes this. The federal government is a terrible evil and a threat to every American whether they know that or not. It may be a necessary evil but it still is an evil that must be fought at every turn.

This country was founded on the concept of property rights. If your property is not your own then anyone can just help themselves to what you have paid your money to own anytime they please. Since it took money to buy any property you own, your money is also your property and anyone who helps himself to it is a thief. Trying to dress it up as an issue of fairness because you have more money than someone else is total bullshit. Some people are more talented than others as writers, singers, dancers or what have you. Is that fair? It may not seem fair but that is just the way life is. Would you have us all be equally talented and have everybody be just mediocre at everything? Worse yet, would you have us place handicaps on talented people so that they would not be any better than anyone else at whatever they are good at? Then why would you have us handicap people who are talented at making money by stealing it from them since they are just "too" talented than the rest of us and they owe it to the rest of us in all fairness? We excuse this inexcusable behavior by calling these people greedy. All that happens when you handicap the wealthy by taking their money is that we all get poorer. We have been handicapping the wealthy for several years now and while I do not know about you, I am definitely poorer than I was before the socialists took over the government.

All we hear from Congress is how we need more laws, more programs and especially more spending even though we know that this policy is totally insane. The United States government is broke and bankrupt in all but name. We have borrowed from our children's children's children to fund this spending spree that would put an entire aircraft carrier group of drunken sailor to shame. We desperately need to take a meataxe to the federal government budget and lop off several cabinet departments at one fell swoop. Does anyone really think that the present occupant of the White House is prepared to do this to save our country from going belly up? He is busy doing the Alfred E. Neumann bit and saying. "What, me worry?" His answer is to tax the rich and spend even more money. If we took every "rich" person, which by his definition is anyone making over $250,000 a year, and lined them up against the wall, shot them all, confiscated everything they owned, sold it all and gave the money to the federal government how much of a dent would that make? It would mean we could fund the federal government for about a year so what do we do the year after that when there are no more rich people to rob?

Since forming a third party would just guarantee finishing off our country by re-electing the incumbent, we are stuck with electing a Republican president who promises to dramatically cut the federal government down to a size we can live with. Unfortunately, most Republicans only make speeches about doing that but never follow through on their promises. All we get is a little less government than we would have under the Democrats, but still more government and spending than before. Who then can we draft as our David who will venture forth and slay the Goliath of big government that is strangling all of us? It will take someone who has a record of not being afraid of stepping on the toes of BOTH parties who want to keep to business as usual even though it is destroying our country. There is only one person who answers that description perfectly, but when she popped up onto the national scene, the enemy within recognized her as the threat that she was to their way of running the country and attacked her and her family without mercy to an extent never seen before even in the rough and tumble world of politics. What is worse, we stood idly by and let the bastards do it and never stood up for her to our everlasting shame.

Thus it is no wonder that she decided that her family had been vilified enough and being president was not worth what it would cost her family. She also realized that her reputation had been so shattered by the relentless assault on her that to be just one of many Republicans running against Mr. Business as Usual, as demonstrated by his governing of Massachusetts, was an exercise in futility. Perhaps when Romney sweeps New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Florida and there is no one left to stop him from winning the nomination even though he will only have 5% of the total delegates at that point, she can be prevailed upon to change her mind and do her duty and save us all.

We cannot live on what may turn out to be a vain hope given the stakes. Who then is there left who has a track record of cutting government at all and even balancing the budget for a couple of years? Only Newt Gingrich answers that description. In spite of all his personal failings, his huge ego and his tendency to jump on a new train too quickly, he is the only remaining choice. He is the bull in a china shop of the federal government that is exactly what we need. The point is that Newt is now a necessity or we are all going down with the listing ship of state. That means it is up to the folks of South Carolina to put Newt over the top. If they fail to do that, we are down to the longshot of leaning on Sarah very hard to change her mind and fulfill her duty to her country.

This is just such an unbelievable mess that we have allowed to happen in our country. We truly are in desperate straits. God help us all since we do not seem to be willing to help ourselves by doing whatever it takes to vanquish the enemy within.

Broke Negroes and Negroes in love.

I promised myself that I wouldn't blog about the salacious story trending now about Sarah Palin and Glen Rice playing a little one and one a few years back. (Although I kind of liked this guy's take on the whole thing.) So you will hear nothing more about it from the field....not tonight. My man Wyclef, on the other hand, might have some thoughts. Apparently he is a big Sarah fan.  

But anyway, staying with the "jungle fever" theme; can anyone tell my why CJ Sapong chose to make a fool of himself for all the world to see? Okay, we get it; you love Hope Solo, but a discreet phone call or "Hi, my name is"....away from the cameras would have done the trick.

Sadly, I think I am starting to see a trend here.

Speaking of trends, WTF is wrong with you brothers and your money when you start making a little ends? Now I am reading that Chris McAlister is broke. Wasn't this Negro just in the National Football League?

McAlister, 34 years old, signed a $55M contract in 2004 and 7 years later, has absolutely nothing to show for it.

“I have been unemployed since 2009. I have no income.”
He adds, “I live in my parents' home. My parents provide me with my basic living expenses as I do not have the funds to do so.”

A real Philly Diva, and a wingnut's version of history.

Man you Divas can be a trip sometimes. Seems that some cadet is alleging that Philly's very own Diva, Ms. Patti, ordered her bodyguards to put a beat down on him because he was getting a little too close for comfort. (Philly and Diva is not a good combination.) Now homeboy is suing.

"SEEMS AS IF Patti LaBelle's next single should be a cover of the Police's "Don't Stand So Close to Me."

On Wednesday, Richard King filed a lawsuit against the Wynnewood-based LaBelle and her bodyguards after they allegedly beat the living crap out of him. King, a West Point cadet and member of the school's football team, was returning home for spring break on March 11 via Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston when LaBelle's bodyguard's took issue with his proximity to the Queen of Rock 'n' Soul's luggage.

The lawsuit says King was waiting for his ride, when LaBelle got into her stretch limo. She decided King was too close, siccing her guards on him. While the attack was occurring, King said that LaBelle "watched the vicious assault with approval" from the safety of her limo.

"LaBelle is hot-tempered herself, and has a reputation for both inciting and participating in acts of violence in public," the suit reads. "She ordered it, and never tried to stop it."

Hmmm, if that's all there is to the story it wouldn't be a good look for lady Patti. But every story has two sides.

"LaBelle did get out of her car by the time the Houston Police Department arrived on the scene. In security-camera footage, she is seen posing for snapshots with the officers just a few feet from the blood-splattered pavement where the beatdown took place. (Not cool, HPD. But, can you blame them? She was LaBelle in LaBelle!)

King wasn't so starstruck. "He didn't know who Patti LaBelle was," King's attorney John Raley told KHOU 11 News. "He didn't know he was standing anywhere near somebody famous." Instead of beating King up, LaBelle's bodyguards should have just laid some knowledge on the boy. There's no excuse for ignorance of pop-music royalty.

Too bad for King that the police report doesn't jibe with his story. The HPD didn't deny that the attack occurred (it was all caught on camera) but says that it was King who was the attacker. LaBelle's son/limo driver Zuri Edwards told cops that the cadet made the first move, striking him after Edwards told him to vamoose.

The report also says King smelled of alcohol, which King acknowledges. "I had some drinks on the plane, but I mean, I wasn't anywhere near intoxicated or anything along those lines," King told KHOU.

King, who is also suing the airport and a taxi dispatcher for not providing a safe environment, is seeking actual and punitive damages, as well as attorney fees and court costs." [Story]

As Warner Wolf used to say: we will just have "to go to the video tape" on this one.

Finally, someone has to have a real sit down with these high profile republican politicians and school them on some basic history about this country.

First a high schooler gives Michele Bachmann an intellectual beat down, and openly challenges her to a debate on the Constitution.

"I have found quite a few of your statements regarding The Constitution of the United States, the quality of public school education and general U.S. civics matters to be factually incorrect, inaccurately applied or grossly distorted," writes Cherry Hill, N.J., high schooler Amy Myers. She concludes: "I, Amy Myers, do hereby challenge Representative Michele Bachmann to a Public Forum Debate and/or Fact Test on The Constitution of the United States, United States History and United States Civics." She has yet to respond to the youngster.

And then there is our girl Sarah, who..... ahh what the hell, just read the article.

"Sarah Palin is the comedic gift that keeps on giving. She demonstrated that once again on her non-publicity-seeking bus tour when she attempted to give a history lesson about Paul Revere's famous midnight ride, and botched almost every fact.

"He who warned uh, the British that they weren't gonna be takin' away our arms, uh by ringing those bells, and um, makin' sure as he's riding his horse through town to send those warning shots and bells that we were going to be sure and we were going to be free, and we were going to be armed."

As any elementary school student can probably tell you, Paul Revere was not attempting to warn the British when he rode around crying, "The British are coming." Nor was he ringing bells and trying to protect gun rights.

Apparently Palin learned nothing at any of the five colleges she attended." [Source]

Can one of my republican friends please tell me where to send a donation for her presidential campaign? I would love to give. Poor Sarah, I guess she needs this little history tour more than she thinks.

Sarah, they don't want to roll with you.

It looks like Sarah is rolling out a bus trip this Memorial Day weekend to kick off her campaign.It's called the "One Nation Tour" and she will touch on all of the historic sites. (I hope she has been brushing up on her history. We wouldn't want her visiting the Liberty Bell in Wilmington.)

She also claims that she is going to be rolling with the "Rolling Thunder" folks, just to show what a true red white and blue loving patriot she is. But a funny thing happened on the way to Sarah's hog ride; the "Rolling Thunder" folks say that they didn't invite her.

"She wasn't invited. We heard yesterday she came out with a press release she was coming to Rolling Thunder," Ted Shpak, national legislative director of Rolling Thunder, told "Andrea Mitchell Reports." Shpak is one of three members of Rolling Thunder's current leadership who says he had no idea Palin was coming until it was posted on her website. " [source]

Oh well, I suppose that Sarah has to get out of the house. I know that her daughter is driving her crazy with this jungle fever stuff these days.

Sticking to my wingnut politician theme; I see that another republiclown has been caught throwing stones while living in a glass house.

That is not a good look for someone who likes to preach to use about fiscal responsibility. But we shouldn't be surprised. Not when we see another wingnut pol running up a half a million dollar tab with Tifanny's and not think about paying it back until he is called on it. (Expect more on Mrs. Newt's jewelry fetish. Something about lobbyist and shady deals.)

Finally, I have one more wingnut polit-trickster to call out: This one is from the "land of Lincoln", and he, like so many others of his kind, believes that his O ness was elected to be president of these divided states because of "white guilt" and his black skin.

"Why was he elected? Again, it comes back to who he was. He was black, he was historic. And there's nothing racist about this," Walsh told Slate's Dave Weigel in an interview. "It is what it is. If he had been a dynamic, white, state senator elected to Congress he wouldn't have gotten in the game this fast. This is what made him different." [Source]

The meltdown continues, and chasing the Big R.

Just call Mike Huckabee the Charlie Sheen of A-merry-can politics. Now the man is attacking Natalie Portman, who happens to be an actress. Yes, an actress. Not someone charged with writing laws and implementing public policy in this country, but an actress.

Seems he doesn't like the fact that she is glamorizing having kids out of wedlock. (Yes, kind of like Sarah Palin's family.) Mike, she is an actress. Relax!

It's Friday night, and I have to do a little racism chasing before the weekend. Hmmm, let me see now; where should I turn?

I know, how about that state that has been giving me so much material lately? From a governor who calls a police officer an "idiot", to a judge who locks up a woman for trying to give her child a better life; my friends in the Buckeye state might want to get the number to the closest U-Haul store.

"GAHANNA, Ohio – The mother of a black Ohio fifth grader assigned to play a slave for a social studies lesson says the school should be more sensitive.

Principal Scott Schmidt of Chapelfield Elementary in Gahanna (guh-HA'-nuh) called Aneka Burton to apologize for what happened to her son, Nikko, on Wednesday. Columbus station WBNS-TV reports Schmidt said no harm was intended.

Ten-year-old Nikko says the class was randomly divided into "masters" and "slaves" and that the only other black student got to be a master. Burton says her son refused to take part in a simulated slave auction and was sent back to his desk.

Burton says she appreciates the apology, but the exercise was inappropriate". [Story]

I thought Ghana was in Africa? Of wait, it's G-A-H-A-N-N-A. Sorry. Still, you would think with a name so close to an African name those folks would be more sensitive. But hey, at least they tried to even things out. They allowed one of the little black kids to play the master. *shaking head*

Finally, I see the Judge tossed that lawsuit in Delaware where the theater owner told you Negroes to keep quiet before a Tyler Perry movie. (That guy must follow the 12% rule)

But seriously, in spite of what some of my friends in the house happen to believe, it was not a "frivolous suit". Hard to prove? Yes. (Because everyone knows that there are no racist left in A-merry-ca.) But "frivolous"? I think not.

"The Delaware Supreme Court has ruled that a movie theater manager’s mandate that a screening room full of black patrons be quiet during the film did not violate the state’s equal accommodation laws. This all started with a 2007 showing of 'Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married' at the Carmike 14 Theater in Dover. The manager, David Stewart, told the room’s 23 black patrons to be quiet, remain in their seats and turn off their cell phones. Stewart was then followed out of the theater by a patron, who told him his comments were not well taken. So Stewart went back, explaining he didn’t mean to offend anyone, but he had to make the announcement per the policy of theater owner."

The article continues: "One of the 23 African Americans in attendance was Juana Fuentes-Bowles, who just so happens to be the director of Delaware’s Human Relations Division. She stood up and told everyone that Stewart’s comments were racist. Although Stewart did not use 'racist language' her office conducted a hearing and found that his conduct violated the state’s equal accommodation law. The Delaware Supreme Court had originally found that Stewart did indeed single-out a black audience for the silence demands – since he did not make the same announcement in other theater rooms on the same night. Each of the 23 complainants were awarded $1,500 in damages for being told to be quiet during the movie [nearly $80,000 in all]."

More: "But a Superior Court then reversed the decision, and [on Wednesday] the state’s Supreme Court has affirmed the reversal. According to Supreme Court Justice Jack Jacobs, the theater-goers failed to establish evidence of racial discrimination. The judge accepted testimony by Stewart that his comments were not motivated by race as Stewart evidently would have equally told teenagers to pipe down during a screening of 'Halloween.'"

He "WOULD HAVE " equally told teenagers to pipe down?" Riiiiight. Is there anyone interested in buying an antique bell from me with a slight crack on the side? If you believe that about the theater manager I would love to sell it to you.

Black History Month.

I wanted to blog about Black History Month so I went looking over at HuffPo (since they are reserving a section for us black folks now) and found this. Needles to say I was disappointed. More liberal guilt from a white woman named Helen Davey, ( that's not Helen in the picture) who just read "The Help" ,and as is to be expected with these sort of things; it brought back all types of childhood memories for the poor woman:

"My first best friend was Elisabeth Darity. I have an old, black and white photograph of the two of us, dated September 1943, when I was six months old. Nestled in Elisabeth's lap, I'm resting my tiny white hand on her large and comforting black one. My memories of Elisabeth begin when my older brother and sister went to school, and I felt left behind and lonely. Elisabeth was chosen to look after me, and I had no idea that I was her job -- I thought she was my friend who came to play. She was the first person who listened to me and took what I said seriously. My brother and sister, being older, would laugh at me, run away from me and call me a "crybaby." Elisabeth empowered me by pointing out that my siblings actually needed me as a third person to play most games. If they ran away from me, then I wouldn't play with them anymore. It worked! "

No Helen, Elisabeth didn't come to play. She came to work. Taking care of you was how she fed her family.

Anyway, I changed my mind about the Black History Month post. Every day is black history for me. I don't need a month that was set aside for me to reinforce A-merry-can exceptionalism. "See how we love you black folks? We even gave you your own month".

Let me start with Governor Kripy Kreme and go down from there. My man was in my city today to get an award from the very Blue Blooded Union League. The award is called....wait for it....."The Lincoln Award". Yes, the same Lincoln who freed the slaves. Maybe freeing people from their money and their jobs is the Republican version of Lincoln type values these days. That is certainly what the good Gov. has been doing in Jersey.

And speaking of the party of Lincoln; it looks like the GOP infighting has started already. Seems that former Senator Rick I should be in a Sanitarium called out Sarah:

"I have a feeling that she has some demands on her time, and a lot of them have financial benefit attached to them,"

Are you saying that it's all about the money with Sarah, Rick? Well she has a little something for you:

“I think the reports were much worse than what he really said. I think some things were really taken out of context. So I will not call him the knuckle dragging neanderthal that perhaps others would want to call him. I’ll let his wife call him that instead.”

Ouch! A "knuckle dragging neanderthal"? Now now Sarah, is that anyway for one future presidential candidate to talk about another?

O man, if they are treating each other with such contempt and derision, I shudder to think what's in store for you.

Finally, if this Negro isn't the slave catcher of the year I don't know who is. You would think that with all the problems his flock might have to deal with this pastor would find other things to occupy his time than to save white men.

Come on Rev. I am sure that the white men of A-merry-ca appreciate the effort. But take my word for it when I tell you that they will be just fine.

MLK vitriol, and Glenn Beck believes that the killing of six people is funny.

It's getting close to MLK's birthday again, and the usual nutcases are coming out of the woodwork as they usually do this time of year. God forbid you Negroes have an American hero like the rest of us.

"Born Michael King Jr., the man known to the world as Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. has continued to be an enigma. Both revered and reviled, he has been a force to be reckoned since he led the historic march in Selma, Ala., in 1965 and continues to be so even in death.

"Sexual degenerate" and "communist" are not terms often associated with this revered nonviolent leader who spearheaded the civil rights movement.

Yet, Brett Reese, a member of the Greeley-Evans School District 6 Board of Education, is broadcasting just such an attack on Dr. King through his 104.7 FM pirate radio show..

Finally, someone told me to turn on 1210 AM here in Philly this morning and listen to the radio. I flipped on the little desk top radio in my office and all I heard was laughter and joking. It took me awhile to figure out that it was Glenn Beckkk's radio program and that he was yucking it up with his co-hosts about the killings in Arizona.

One joke after another; about the president, Joe Scarborough, and then some congresswoman named Louise Slaughter. Apparently they have a history.("Oh no we can't use that name,-Slaughter- they might want to shut us down" Ha ha ha ha!!!")

Glenn, I am glad that you and your cronies think that the death of six people (including a nine year old girl) is funny. The rest of us are not laughing.

BTW, I am still waiting for Sarah Palin to apologize for putting the congresswoman in the cross hairs of her political rifle.

Giving new meaning to the term "red states."

I was going to rip kicker David Akers of my Philadelphia Eagles for costing us the game today, but after seeing his tear filled interview I changed my mind. I must be getting soft in my old age.

At least when it comes to field goal kickers; not when it comes to wingnuts.

No direct connection, but strong suspicion is being directed at American Renaissance, an organization that Loughner mentioned in some of his Internet postings and federal law enforcement officials are investigating Loughner's possible links to the organization." [Source]

So the shooter from Arizona was a xenophobic racist. (I guess there was something to that 2009 memo). No surprise there. He was also crazy. No surprise there. He was also able to purchase a handgun in spite of all the signs pointing to him being mentally unstable. No surprise there. This is, after all, NRAmerica.

Something else that isn't surprising: the wingnuts are now all claiming that the shooter was a democrat. "He was a godless leftist who read the Cummunist Manifesto." (He liked Mein Kamp as well but that's beside the point in wingnutland.) This all, of course, means nothing. (For the record, there is as much if not more evidence to prove that his ideology and influence is more right leaning than left.)

Still, Jared Lee Lougher's political and ideological leanings are irrelevant. As usual the wingnuts are missing the point. This is not about a deranged individual named Jared Lee Lougher going on a shooting spree. This is about the leaders of a movement (insert tea party here) and of a major political party calling for citizens to rise up against the government to regain political power. The rhetoric on the right came from the top. ("You lie!") It's about a major political figure on the right putting the congresswoman's face in her "cross hairs" with the image of the scope of a rifle for special effect.

“don’t retreat, instead- RELOAD!” Nice. Thank god he didn't get to reload Sarah. Thanks to the brave citizens who tackled him, Jared Lee Lougher didn't get to fire off the 31 more bullets left in his clip. But Sarah isn't alone. Other wingnuts, such as Sharron Angle, called for "armed insurrection" against congress. But we are supposed to forget all of this because this nut job has no direct ties to the republican party.

It doesn't work that way. You created this environment and now you have to live with the consequences. Scrubbing your facebook page and having the benefit of FOX NEWS 24/7 propaganda won't change the facts. Your rhetoric and red meat fired up your base, and those among you who are well meaning came out and exercised their civic duty and voted out the bums who they thought were not acting in their best interest. That's fine. On the other hand, those among you (and those in the population at large) who hated the government for a different reason, saw this as an opportunity to put their hatred on full display.

I started this post on a sports note and I will end with one as it is directly connected to this story. The nine year old girl who tragically lost her life was the granddaughter of the manager who brought Philadelphia a championship in baseball back in 1980. She went to the gathering because she wanted to be a politician, (she was president of her elementary school class) and she admired the congresswoman. She paid for that visit with her life.

"According to the Alaska Dispatch site, Palin aide Rebecca Mansour said in an interview with Alaska radio host Tammy Bruce, a Palin supporter, that there was 'nothing ' about the 20 crosshair-like symbols that appeared on a map of districts targeted last year by Palin's PAC, including that of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

"We never ever, ever intended it to be gun sights. ... We never imagined, it never occurred to us that anybody would consider it violent,' Mansour said." [Source]

Of course you didn't Rebecca. But just remember, chickens don't stay out forever. At some point they have to come home.
