Snake Frame Halloween Craft

***PAGE down FOR Halloween NECKLACES to yesterday's post!!***

Time for another craft as seen on this week's Show Me St.Louis!

This one...is kind of gross and definitely creepy!

But the thing I love most is...it's super super simple!!

Supplies:

Frame (looked for frames on clearance that have scratches and dings..they're perfect for this!)
Clearsnap Smooches Spray Mists
Rubber snakes
Black spray paint
GlueArts Hot Glue Gun
Sandpaper

Instructions:

1) Start by spray painting the frame. Kids can help...if spray painting is not an option...give them some paint and a brush and set them off painting. Spray paint snakes too!

2) After dry sand some of the edges to roughen it up.

 3) Use hot glue gun to glue snakes around frame.

4) Clearsnap Smooches Spray Mists are perfect for this! Spray frame and glass and allow to dry for a lovely....err gross frame.

5) Finish off with one of your finest photos!!

Whew...Halloween was Fun...

but now I'm glad it's done! I completely forgot just how exhausting the day is! We started off Thursday utitilizing the fantastic weather and carving the pumpkin outside. We had such a good pumpkin this year...but just one.

Scott, Parker and Haley headed out with a design I had seen online. Scott would not do any of the fancy ones as he claimed he'd be carving it until Christmas!

Parker wasn't sure about sticking his hands in...

We all thought it turned out verrryy coool!!!

Friday I helped at Parker's party. We watched the costume parade and then went in for the snacks and games. I made up a Ghost Bingo game that went over very well!

then we headed home to get ready for the night and I did Haley's makeup. Everyone thought she looked gross and amazing!

One more of the soldier..

And then we were off for a long night of trick or treating and bringing home what seemed about 10 pounds of candy...that I'm trying not to eat!

Hope you and your family had a great holiday too!

It's Halloween!

~ HALLOWEEN ~

By Harry Behn

Tonight is the night
When dead leaves fly
Like witches on switches
Across the sky,
When elf and sprite
Flit through the night
On a moony sheen.
Tonight is the night
When leaves make a sound
Like a gnome in his home
Under the ground,
When spooks and trolls
Creep out of holes
Mossy and green.
Tonight is the night
When pumpkins stare
Through sheaves and leaves
Everywhere,
When ghouls and ghost
And goblin host
Dance round their queen.
It's Halloween.

Be sure to visit the Bo Bunny Blog!

Have a safe and fun Halloween! I'll share pictures next week of Halloween and Scott's suprise party too!

We're Having Fun Now....

Getting all the decorations out for Halloween! We've been putting up things it feels like each day. This year we've added just a couple little things. Nothing big. But everyone comments on how good it all looks. I'll post some pictures on Friday to share with all the decorations.

Monday on the Bo Bunny blog we shared some ideas for Home Decor. And yes..I made some! I had picked up this nightlight in Target's Dollar bin over the summer knowing I would use it at some point. Well that point is now!

TADA!!! One fun..easy but oh so spooky nightlight!

I like this picture.

See that kooky dude next to the nightlight. Well he sits next to it in the guest bathroom and well Parker does NOT like it at all! Everytime he goes in there it startles him. So now he turns it around to face the wall! Very funny! His eyes glows and flash and you can turn the sound on and he moves around. The other day Parker didn't realize I had turned it on and he went to use the bathroom and about jumped out of his skin!HAHHA

In addition to the nightlight..I made one of my Treat Buckets. It's actually the third Treat Bucket and about the 7th or 8th just decorated bucket. I do think this one is my favorite one!

You can see more of it and the other gals amazing projects on the Bo Bunny Blog! Click the link on the top left!

And I have to share this picture with you..it's Haley on the left and a friend!

Haley was in the Haunted House at Parker's school Fall Festival. They called it the Dance of the Dead. She looked pretty gross I'll say that! They did an awesome job on the Haunted House too! I think she had alot of fun..I'll share more pics on Friday.

One last thing today..October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Today we have a post up at Bo Bunny sharing some cards and inviting you to join us...please take a moment to go there!

Until next time,

Bruises, Concerts and the Pursuit of HappYness

Yes..you got it right! Bruises, Concerts and yes..the Pursuit of HappYness is what's on my mind! First up..the constant reminder of my slipping on the running board of my car last weekend when getting out at the restuarant. This is what my lovely arm looks like. And it's my right arm..so even as I type this I am pushing on those very painful bruises. It looks awful and honestly..doesn't feel much better. That shows just how hard I swung my arm out and it hit the car when I slipped. Neat huh?

Concerts..yep! That is the All District Music Concert. We attended Haley's last night and I have to say I am disapointed. Not in the performance as the Elementary kids were amazing and I have proof. But in the fact that after all the practices and such they sang 2 songs. Yes 2! We gathered for 3 dances done by the Morris team..which is alright. Doesn't grab me. Then 2 songs by the Elementary school choir(5th graders) and 2 songs by the Middle School choir. And that is it. We paid I believe $15 for an unattractive burgandy polo shirt with a logo on it for 2 songs! I feel like calling and complaining. Why on earth could they just not have asked the kids to all wear white shirts instead of asking parents to spend money on a shirt that will never be worn again much less was worn for just 2 songs. Tell me..would that bug you? In spite of that..Haley did a great job and here's a link to a video of her first song.

And last..the Pursuit of HappYness. Yes..with a Y. And why you ask? Because it's a new way of doing things..new way to inspire and offer ideas, challenges and more. That is..the Pursuit of HappYness is a new blog created by the group of designers formerly apart of Paper Salon. Unfortunately we all recently found out some big changes were happening with the company and changes that meant the ceasing of the design team.

See here:

http://papersalon.typepad.com/stylefile/

I was so upset to learn this as I have been on the team for 2 years and just could not imagine not being apart of it. Some of the gals were on for 3 years. I consider my fellow designers to be my good friends and friends who I did not want to part company with! Thankfully I was not alone in my thoughts and we have all come together to create a new plan, a new blog...a new Pursuit of HappYness if you will. I hope you'll click

and take a peek at the new blog. We'll be sharing, offering up challenges and lots more. But most importantly..we'll all still be together hopefully still providing inspiration to our fellow crafters!! So peek in often!

See you there!!

Picture Friday

Time for sharing some pictures since I haven't had much scrapbook time. Design work yes. Projects to share...sorry no. But soon..I hope!

So to fill in some adorable pictures I took this week. We have had some amazing weather days. The kids drug out all the Playhuts and Parker played guard while the girls were inside.

And check out the lips on this one! And his chin..very funny!

Haley particpated in a talent show at her school. She did not do a dance with her friends..and I'm glad regarding one after seeing the dance. Gesh. But she did participate with some of the other 5th grade girls. Not all the girls did. It would have been neat if that would have happened. I had seen a practice of the dance..but wanted to wait to see it all at the performance. Sadly she was behind a girl or two and they really never changed positions making it hard to take a decent photo of her. Here's a little snippet of the dance itself..

and here's a picture I caught..very hard with all the bouncing!LOL

So that's it for today..check back tomorrow..I've got a new card to share and my friend Annabelle tagged me..so my answers will be posted then!
