Here's the secret and cheap "ingredient" to the screen protector...

**I have received many questions about the vinyl covering hopefully this can help you out:

1. Does it have adhesive on one side?

• No, it doesn't have adhesive. The reason I wanted to make my screen protector this way is because it doesn't have any leftover residue because there isn't any "sticky side." The vinyl does stick to most electronics but results do vary.

2.  Where can I get vinyl covering?

• Like what I said above, I got my vinyl covering at the fabric department in Wal-Mart. However this was a while ago and some Wal-Marts have closed their fabric departments. Craft and fabric stores should sell this also.

3.  Is this like cling wrap or lamination plastic?linktowhy.blogspot.com

• Vinyl covering isn't like cling wrap or lamination plastic at all. I wouldn't recommend using plastics with adhesives in case of damage to your phone. I haven't tried cling wrap but I does seem like it would crinkle and have a lot of ridges and bubbles.

4. Does the vinyl interfere with how the touch screen reacts?

• I used it on my iPod touch and had no problems with it at all. I don't think it will affect the screen reacts as long as you use a thin enough vinyl. Mine wasn't too thin and it worked great!

5.  Does the vinyl damage my screen?linktowhy.blogspot.com

• I have used my screen protector for about 2 years and haven't had any problems with it damaging my screen. In fact, personally I think its better than the adhesive ones that might leave a residue.

6.  Does the vinyl have a lot of glare?

• I think it should be fine for glare. I admit it does have a little but nothing to worry about. I haven't noticed any issues with it so it should be fine for most electronics.

Place the vinyl covering on top of the cardboard and make sure the edges of the vinyl covering are lined up with the stencil. Cut along the lines of the stencil with the scissors or knife.

Last Applying in Device

Wipe off any dust on the newly cut piece using the cloth and make sure to do the same to you phone. Line up the screen protector on the phone and place it gently from one end to the other (to avoid air bubbles). Cut excess material from the edges and use to the cloth to smooth it down.

How to Find Your 3G or Wi-Fi Speed on Your Android Phone

Are you curious about what kind of connection speed you are getting with your Android phone? Today we’ll take a look at how to easily check your Wi-Fi or 3G speeds with Speedtest.net’s Speed Test app.
Download and install the app from the Android Market.

Once it’s installed and you’ve opened the App, you find a straightforward interface. To begin the test simply select Begin Test.

The speed test will begin. It should take just a few moments over Wi-Fi or 3G connection.

When it’s finished you’re Download and Upload speeds are displayed.

The test results are automatically saved for you to refer back to at a later time. Tap the Results button at the top to display previous test results.

You can distinguish the Wi-Fi and 3G results by the icons next to the times. The little cell tower will indicate 3G while the Wi-Fi symbol indicates a Wi-Fi connection.
 
By selecting the menu button on your device while on the Results screen, you can delete the history or have the results exported as comma separated values via email.

The Settings Tab allows you to change how the speeds are displayed, sort history, and IP Address and Latitude and Longitude. You can even change the server you use for your test.

Select and different server and tap Done.



The Speed Test app is a nice way to quickly test download and upload speeds from your mobile carrier, home network, or Wi-Fi hotspot. There is also a Speed Test App available for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Connect Your iPhone, iPod Touch, or Android Phone to a Wi-Fi Network

Have you ever wanted to connect your phone or mobile device to a Wi-Fi network at home or your favorite coffee shop but aren’t sure how? Today we’ll take a look at how to connect to Wi-Fi on an iPhone, iPod Touch, and Android devices.
iPhone / iPod Touch
Note: We are using version 4.0 of the iPhone OS
Find and select the Settings icon on your iPhone or iPod Touch.

Select Wi-Fi from the Settings menu.

If your Wi-Fi setting currently set to Off, tap it to toggle On the Wi-Fi access.

Once your Wi-Fi is enabled you should see available networks appear below. Encrypted networks will show a padlock to the right of the name while “open” networks will not. Tap to select the network to join.

If you choose a network that requires a password, you’ll be prompted to enter it. Type in your password and select Join.
 
When connected, your network SSID will be indicated in blue with a check mark beside it.

To connect to a network with a hidden SSID, select Other.

You’ll need to know the SSID, Security type, and password. Enter that information and select Join.
  
Now you can browse to all your favorite websites and connect to other devices on your Wi-Fi network.

Android
Note: We are using Android 2.1 for our examples.
On your Android device, select the Settings icon.

Under Settings, choose Wireless & networks.

Next, select Wi-Fi settings.

If Wi-Fi is not already turned on, tap the check mark by Wi-Fi to turn it on. When Wi-Fi is enabled, available SSID’s will appear below. Encrypted networks will by indicated with a padlock icon. Select the network to which you’d like to connect.

If password protected, type in your password and select Connect.

You should now see that you are connected to the network.

To connect to a Wi-Fi network with a hidden SSID, select Add Wi-Fi network from the settings.

Then manually type in your SSID and password, and select your network security type. Select Save when finished.

Now you can browse the web through your Wi-Fi router or connect to other network devices.



Whether you want to connect to Wi-Fi to communicate to other devices or just save on your phone’s data usage, it’s pretty easy to do on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or Android phone.

Unlock Your Car Remote Lock Through Your Mobile

If you lock your keys in the car and your spare remote is at home or with your friend or relative, call that person on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person on the other end (one who have the romote key) press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Believe it or not, your car will unlock. I’d have never believed it if I hadn’t tried it myself. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you, and distance is no object (but let me clarify — if you’re in Bangalore and for some reason the other remote is in Delhi, then unfortunately you ARE screwed). But if you are hundreds of miles away(say u are in Tiptur and your key is in Hassan, and if you can reach someone from your phone who has the other “remote” for your car, you can unlock the doors !

Note: Almost all company remote locks open from this method. But for everything there will be some limitations and that what applies here too. So don't blame me if this doesn't work on your car.
