Pool Day

Well I think it's going to be a pool day for us. Not outside here..but at Riverchase. I usually take the kids about 2pm and we stay till around 6 or so and then go by Sonic for dinner. It's a nice little tradition but something I think they look forward to. I know I do!

I sat outside for about 1 1/2 hours with Parker yesterday. Beautiful day out there..felt so good I started to fall asleep with is rare for me. I was in one of those states where I could hear his every sound and word..but in that zone where you could drift off if he wasn't there with you. I got some great pictures of him in the pool. Here' s one of them.




Then headed out to TJMaxx to get the wall hanging I had seen Wednesday night. I guess I needed to think on it and after looking online at Target and seeing one about the same size but no where near as cool as this. And the Target one was $55 and this one $19.99..I knew I had to go back for it.

End of the month

My creativity juices started flowing like crazy yesterday and I got an unbelievable 2 layouts and 4 cards done! For me that is HUGE..unbelieveable to get that much accomplished in one day and with products that are not my normal kind of color or look. But everything turned out great!! Here's one of the layouts that I really like how it turned out..and it's a great picture of the boys too!



I think since I am done..and don't have any of the next projects in hand..I'm going to work on some stuff for me that uses no specific products for a change..which means to me..my favorite stuff Ki!

It's hard to believe that it's the end of the month already. I always knew growing up that once my birthday came and went that summer for me was almost over as it meant going back to school. Funny enough it still means the same as I go back to work full time, the kids go back to school and the nice, relaxing pace of life leaves. It's a shame it can't always be summer..

And a special thanks go out to my mom and dad for taking us out to dinner for my birthday!!

Rain?

Well did it rain where you were yesterday?? If so..that is normal. That is to say it is completely normal for it to rain on my birthday every year. Why I have no idea..maybe I should consult the Farmer's Almanac for some wise information.

But sure enough yesterday evening..it rained..and boy did it ever. Which is also common..not just a light splattering..but a full out thunderstorm. Even last year we woke up in Cancun to rain..but then it cleared away to an amazing beautiful day!

So in case you wondered about the rain that happened..it's because of me!

Sun

Well I am so darn glad that nasty bunch of rain is gone..I need the sun..can't go days on end with rain and dark skies. It's just not in my DNA..must have it!HA And the kids too..they were losing their minds all cooped up inside..in fact..I think Parker definitely lost his as you can see by this sily picture of him! He cracks me up..always!




I am working on his birthday party invites..so look for those soon. Hard to believe that he will be 5! Gesh..was he really born in 2000?? I think it was 2001!HA

Had fun last night helping Deidre make cute invitations for Grace's party..hard as well to believe she will be 3! It just seems like yesterday Deidre came over with her in her tiny car seat for me to meet her since I was going to babysit her. She is such a cutie patootie!! Like her mom!! Who's now expecting baby #2..I predict a boy Deidre!

Well I am off for the day.. Scott has a slow, quiet week..so we are enjoying that since our trip to Mexico is postponed to next year! Special thoughts go out to Mark & Sharon who we met almost one year ago..we're lucky to have them! And extra special thoughts to you Sharon!!

Buzzzzyyy

Well we had a busy weekend..but it was fun. Spent Friday at the Science Center since the rain didn't want us to go to Six Flags...hopefully this week. The kids had fun though and did all kinds of things there. We saw the Ciruqe de Soleil film in their IMAX theatre..very wild way to watch a show..kind of makes you feel queasy!! Although Parker just smiled as you see here..

Connor turned into a complete giggling mess when he saw this big spaceship you could play with..he was so silly..it took hours for the guy to calm down!!

Haley was her usual happy self..but happiest when she got her balloon dog in the circus area..


All in all a good time! I want to thank my parents for watching the kids for us Saturday night so we could go out. It has been a few months since we have been out and probably more than year or more since the kids were all gone overnight. So that was really nice for us!!

Yesterday we sweated our rear ends off at the Grizzly ball game. Have to say..it wasn't fun doing that. And before we left the kids wanted me to ride this spinning ride with them..wrong choice! Let's just say when it's 100 degrees, your hot sweaty and feeling gross..probably lacking in all the right stuff since you sweated it out..don't ride on a ride! I was close to being the adult that got sick on a kids ride....not a good thing!!

Harry Potter is in the house..need to finish up a library book and then I will be all over it..can't wait to read it!

Okay..that's it for now..oh and thoughts go out to my friend Tammy whose little boy Kyle broke his leg yesterday!! Ouch! Hopefully he'll heal up fast and be back up and running soon!!

Working on a design team layout with these great bright papers and found the perfect photos to use with them..Miss Haley on the bumper boats..how cute is she!

Scanners

Who would ever think buying a scanner is a big deal? Now buying this new computer..yes..scanner no. But in my case..yes! You see I have gone through two Visioneer scanners in about 5 years..which to me seems like an awful lot! Now granted they weren't expensive scanners or even anywhere near close to top of the line..all around $70 and for at the time a good scanner.

Well being that I frequent the various scrapbook boards there is always talk about what's the best printer, dig camera, scanner etc etc. So, I got sucked into reading all these posts about scanners. First off..what in the world do we need with so many scanners? I mean really! Does a company have to offer 10 or more different types of scanners? No! Why can't there be a model under $100, under $200 etc etc until you reach whatever is deemed the top most level!HA Why must say HP make like 10 different scanners all around $99? That is so weird and dumb!

So, after reading reading and reading I decided to pick a brand I love..my printer brand..Epson. And the brand all the scrap mags recommend..it offers instant photo fix features..like the Kodak machines..didn't spend a horrible amount..I think around $91..shopped around for the best price. Should arrive I guess next week..so that means I am holding off posting my design work until then as taking a pic of them isn't the same as a scan!


So..if anyone needs a new scanner..I would be happy to give you the 411 on them!HA

Where does it go?

I've come to decide that during summer..the days just fly by literally! But once school starts..they crawl! What does that mean? I guess the obvious..that it is much more fun during the summer since their is so much to do.

This past week has been another busy one with me working on design team work, working around the house and going to dr's appointments.

I am happy to report that my visit to the internist for the "bump" I felt in my cheek is appearantly nothing. Or nothing now. She wasn't concerned..so now I am not going to be. Of course, if anything changes..I am supposed to call her. DUH!LOl As if I wouldn't! I just wanted to be reassured..she said it felt like a part of me!HA Or maybe a little lymph node moving around..but since she really couldn't feel it..I guess that meant everything is good.

Had my female checkup today..I love Dr. Cannon..she is the best! Made me feel so good when she told me I had to go for my first mammogram..and I told her I couldn't possibly be old enough. She said..well age wise you are..but looks wise you aren't! You gotta love her. I was happy that I maintained my weight from a year ago..but still need to lose more. She didn't care..said I was fine. To keep doing what I am doing.

She is too neat though..kind of sad when she told me she isn't delivering babies anymore..she delievered Haley and was so cool..still is. I just think of all the mom's that will miss out on having an amazing doctor in the delivery room. I'm just glad I got too!

We were talking about Harry Potter since she is just a big a fan as I am! Comes out Friday at midnight! Different Barnes and Nobles are having parties for it..may have to pop into the Fairview Heights one after the IL scrapbook crop..so I can grab my new book! Can't wait!



Well, I just got home and need to get some more design work done and take advantage of an overcast day. Which means I am not feeling pulled to be outside with the kids.

Happy 4th of July!

I'm back! that is to say that I finally have a new computer that will allow me to post on my blog without my being kicked off the computer every time!! So that's why you haven't seen any posts recently!

I have an amazing new computer, which actually is way more advanced than I am..so I have alot of learning to do! The wires alone and figuring out how to hook everything up was more involved than I have ever done..I even have a wireless mouse! Very cool!!

So...look for my daily posts again and of course adorable pics of the kids!
